We depend on donations and community support
The rural areas of Guanacaste are not the most privileged when it comes to meeting educational standards and adequate facilities. Since there is no financial help or support from the government for private non-profit associations we heavily rely on donations of money and good to help us realize our school's projects.
We run donations campaigns principally dedicated to improve school grounds, including more classrooms or a kitchen. In October 2022 we celebrated the opening of our new soccer field that we have been dreaming about for so long.
Over the past years until today so many people and businesses, not only from Sámara but also from abroad, have helped us enormously in different ways. Some have donated a scholarships for children from low-income families to participate in our school program. Others have donated funds, materials and their time to support our projects until today.
Our Non Profit Projects 2022 & 2023
What we have achieved over the last two year thanks to the donations, time investment, and dedication of so many people!
Student Dining Hall "Comedor" 2023
Our school took on another important and necessary non-profit project in 2023: building a lunch hall for the students. Up until this year, we haven't had a designed space for students to enjoy their meals. We are grateful for having this great space now, and that our local cook "Nuria" is now on-site with us leading the comedor and preparing snacks and lunch for students and staff.
Engaging Activities for Smaller Fundraising Events
Zumba, Soccer, and Beach Games
We love to get our bodies moving and have fun while raising money for our school! Throughout the year, we organize various activities such as Zumba classes, soccer matches, and beach games. These events are a great way for students, teachers, and volunteers to come together and enjoy some physical activity while supporting a worthy cause.
Tasty Treats
Occasionally we have a series of snack and drink sales during breaks. These events are organized by students and teachers, who work hard to ensure that everyone had a delicious and refreshing treat. The sales are a big hit, and we raise a significant amount of money for our school.
Cultural Arts Fundraiser
This year, we hosted a cultural arts fundraiser featuring live music led by our talented music teacher. We also sold food and art projects created by our students. This event was sure to be a showcase of our school's creativity and talent.
6th Grade Graduation Excursion
We do food sale and a soccer match event to help finance the graduation excursion for our 6th graders. This is a special event that our students look forward to every year, and we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to participate. The food sale and games will be a fun way to raise money and celebrate our graduating class.
We believe that fundraising should be an enjoyable and engaging experience for everyone involved. That's why we always strive to organize events that are both fun and productive. We are grateful for the support of our students, teachers, and volunteers who help make our fundraising events a success.
