Our School Beliefs and Philosophy
It is the school's firm belief that the more fun and creative a knowledge is transmitted, the better the child will learn and retain it.
Our mission is to shape our students into world citizens who are responsible, have strong academic skills, are curious, have a sense of morals who positively interact with the world that surrounds them.
Our Philosophy
Sámara Pacific School’s philosophy is to integrate the whole community by offering accessible tuition fees for local families of the area.
The school wishes to have an impact at the local level so that Costa Rica's rich traditions are practiced and celebrated, but old habits, for example in detriment of the environment, are changed and the future of our community can be enhanced by tolerance, understanding and responsibility.
Our Core Values
Environmental Education
We aim to instruct our students about conservation, environmental responsibility, and how they can reflect an understanding of ecology in their lives. Our students participate in regular beach clean-ups, tree planting activities, other environmental campaigns, and environmental awareness is woven into our everyday academic instruction.
Arts
Art education is a vital part of our student' learning experience. We consider art not only to be an important part of life that embellishes our every day existence but also serves as a great vehicle to transmit knowledge. Children usually love to paint or draw and the Sámara Pacific School tries to use this liking in as many subjects as possible.
Community Needs
Among all the private educational institutions Sámara Pacific School keeps being the most accessible for local families with lower income and fewer resources. We also aim to provide more education to our students' families through workshops on a wide variety of topics that impact the child's mental and academic development.
Environmental Conservation
The topic of environmental conservation represents a transversal aspect which is treated in all subjects and represents an elemental part of the student's projects. Thus, students produce objects of art with recycled material (plastic bottles, food containers, cans, drift wood, etc.) and within the school's daily life we give new life to used things (garbage bins are made out of paint buckets, containers are used for pencils, flower pots, etc.).
